Inquiry and Analysis

Definition:

  1. The ability to use logical and empirical reasoning and methods to explicate and analyze one’s material and social realities. 
  2. Exercise sound reasoning and integrity to identify valid information from a variety of media, analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems. 
  3. Use logic and ethical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. 
  4. Able to obtain and interpret a broad range of information. 
  5. May demonstrate originality and inventiveness, but also an awareness of participating in an iterative, ongoing process of generating knowledge within a field of inquiry.

Can you give an example of a time when you had to make inferences and judgments based on quantitative data? What assumptions did you make? How confident were you in your analyses?
